CATCH THE REPLAY TODAY:
Hello Hello Hello and Welcome to episode number 52 of the Wellness 4 Women Show
How are we doing this week let me know under the video in the Wellness 4 Women Group or drop me a DM.
Do you ever find yourself struggling to stay motivated? Ever wish life and or weight loss was easier?
I'd be surprised if you said no. We've all thought this kind of thing from time to time and if you are working on weight loss likely a lot.
Historically those who work on weight loss have a tendency to be quite hard on themselves. We can look in the mirror and focus on their perceived flaws and imperfections and completely overlook the real truth.
The real truth being:
Imagine instead feeling proud of yourself every damn day.
How would that feel?
How much more joyful would you be?
How much more likely were you to sustain your course and keep motivation?
This is what I am going to talk about in todays show.
Celebrating successes will help keep you focused on what matters most, so that even when things get tough, you have something positive to look back on and be proud of.
Achieving long-term success in life and weight loss requires celebrating the wins, no matter how big or small.
I am going to discuss why it is important to recognize your successes daily, and how doing so can be beneficial for your health and well-being.
I also explore different ways you can celebrate victories and learn how to stay motivated through the harder times by recognizing each achievement along the way.

So how can you can start master motivation and tapping into the power of winning!
First things first it is important to recognize that motivation ebbs and flows just like a wave. This is completely normal, this is never truer when it comes to weight loss but applies generally in life. Sometimes you are up, you feel powerful and unstoppable and other days you feel like you can't even tie your shoelace right or you wipe out surfing the wave!
Yet by recognizing each victory, big or small you will set yourself up for success in the long term. Appreciate what you have accomplished so far and take a moment to enjoy it!
By celebrating successes we are reinforcing our behaviour – when you celebrate a win (whatever that is for you and no matter how big or small) your brain registers this behaviour. It releases the hormone dopamine and so your brain associates the behaviour with pleasure.
Our brains are prewired to take us away from pain and towards pleasure. It is survival 101!
Your brain looooves it!
When you take a moment to recognize your successes and be proud of yourselves, you can start more focused and more motivated on what matters most to you even when times are tough.
Let's dive into why this is critical for your mental health, self-esteem and overall well-being.
When we take the time to recognize our successes, it gives us a sense of accomplishment and allows us to create an identity that is not defined by how much weight you've lost or what goals you have achieved. It helps provide perspective on how far you have come along your journey, no matter what stage of the process or life you are in.
For me, this was a truly powerful part of my journey. My weight loss journey has helped me, due to the method I used and encourage now, to show up for myself daily in ways I didn't know I was capable of and as I said last week this had a massive impact on my confidence.
But confidence is just one part of all this.
I still have days when I feel low or days when I doubt myself but by recognizing my successes even on the darker days I am able to bring the light.
I am able to remind myself of all the times when I have achieved something, which in turn lifts my spirits and makes me feel more capable for whatever comes next.
Let’s explore different ways you can celebrate your victories and stay motivated towards your goals.
Take a moment to recognize and acknowledge your wins daily, no matter how big or small! There are so many ways you can do this:
You are only limited by your own imagination/creation. I think I am going to go start a thread on Facebook to see what other suggestions people may have.
Go ahead, treat yourself with something that makes you feel good.
A habit you may wish to work on is using food as a reward.
You could instead try to find something else that gives you a hit of dopamine
An activity, a massage, or even just buying yourself that pair of shoes you’ve been eyeing up!
A reward doesn't have to be an extravagant gesture but this can help to reinforce the achievement
Whether it is your family, friends, or community (physical or virtual like the Wellness 4 Women Group) don’t forget to share your successes and celebrate with others.
Celebrating successes with others is an important aspect of the journey to success in life and weight loss. It is an opportunity to share your wins and achievements with those who have been supportive, as well as provide a sense of community and camaraderie. Sharing our triumphs also serves as a reminder that you are not alone on this journey, and it allows others to join in on the celebration as well and encourages them in their journeys.
Give yourself the gift of presence. Take a moment to be in the moment and simply feel your success.
Take the time out to reflect on what you have achieved and how much further you have come since where you are now.
As we said earlier, this part of the journey was truly powerful for me. Taking time to recognise and appreciate my wins gave me perspective
When celebrating successes, don't forget to look back at where you started and all that have been doing along the way
For context, for those in the Wellness 4 Women Group where I am recording this live it is just after New Year and the start of 2023. For those listening on the Podcast and YouTube this will have dropped later in the year...so if you want to be the first to hear the show make sure you join Wellness 4 Women link is in the description.
I tell you this because what I am about to say will make more sense.
So with it being the start of 2023, I have just completed my reflection journal which will be available on my website and I had the most powerful experience. I had been feeling a bit low over Christmas. I think a lot of people felt the same this year. Couldn't quite put my finger on it but I had an overall feeling of cba and this was kicking of my doubt saboteur.
Part of the reflection journal which you can use over any period of time but works well on New Year or Birthdays or even by month is celebrating wins. My mind was going to town on me saying I was not good enough, I hadn't done or achieved what I wanted to and so on. But when I started to write down all the wins I had achieved over the year my whole mindset literally shifted in front of me.
I was able to look back and see that despite all the crap going on in my head, I had achieved many things, some big and some small but there was loads.
One of which is this very show and podcast!
I wouldn't have dreamt I could or would ever start a podcast.
Who would have thought, the shy, insecure girl I was in my teens and 20s and the doubt-filled direction less 30 something was able to come out of her cocooon where she played small and is putting herself out there for all to see....certainly not me but her I am and this is all thanks to my weight loss journey and how I grew as a person due to the method I used.
This is episode 52 so me, little old me has created a whole year of weekly content and there are bonus episodes and blogs that are un-numbered!
On reflection, I decided this made me a bad ass. Forget anything else this is a mega achievement.
But it goes beyond that people listen to the show. You are watching this show and I am helping people achieve their dreams through my Triple-A-Way Life & Weight Loss Method. How cool is that.
This is something I will carry with me for life after doing that reflection and I can look back on it anytime I need a boost.
On a weekly basis though I was overlooking it. I have just been getting on with it and not really thinking about it.
It is often the case that we don't give ourselves half the credit we should. It is not about being boastful or big-headed it is about ownership. Owning your awesome. Owning who you are, all or you.
It's important to recognize your progress, no matter how small. Many of us have had a tendency to play down our achievements. We can play small. Make out like things don't matter. The test for this is how you take a compliment. Do you accept it graciously or rebuff it?
I would have been a rebuffer.
Someone says your hair looks nice... oh I just washed it! You might have but you also probably took the time to dry and style it.
You look nice... what this old thing...it's only ASDA. Doesn't matter where it is from or how long it lived in your wardrobe.
You did great today at your job... its what aI am paid for... no you were bloody epic you didn't have to do it whether you were paid or not but you did and somebody somewhere likely benefit from your awesomeness.
So why not celebrate it. Celebrate it all. How much more motivating would this be.
1. Make celebrating part of your daily routine: This doesn't have to be something grand or over the top; it can be as simple as taking five minutes each day to reflect on the successes and achievements of the day, no matter how small they may seem. Need help building habits check out Episode 47.
2. Ask others to hold you accountable: This doesn't necessarily mean to seek out constant validation from others, but rather having people in your life who can help keep you motivated and focused on your goals.
3. Set a reminder in your diary for when you want to complete self-reflection. You are the only one who can see it, so it encourages you to take ownership of yourself and make time for what is important.
4. Work on recognising when you are going through a tough patch and have a toolbox ready to go for how you can overcome it. Part of my OneNote that I have set up this week is a page with 3 columns. Column 1 says "When I feel like..."; Column 2 says "This tends to happen..."; Column 3 says "I will do this...". It may not seem a lot but building out this little list as I go through the year I know is going to help me. My brain is then prepped for the answer when it is asking a million questions and feeling like it has nowhere to turn. I can go back to my win journal and read through my gratitudes and wins, I can go back to my end of year reflection and remind myself of who I really am and who I want to be! I could head to my vision board or just simply listen to music and dance around my kitchen another hot favorite of mine. In the membership I call this having a mindful pick and mix.
Right, that's it, folks! Time for the usual quick round-up.
It’s easy to overlook our successes and accomplishments when life gets tough, but it is so important that we take a moment to celebrate them.
Recognizing your wins can help you stay motivated and focused on what matters most in the long run.
Celebrating doesn't have to be grand or over-the-top; even taking five minutes each day for reflection can make a difference.
Remembering who you are and why you started this journey in the first place will also help keep you going during difficult times - create reminders for yourself like vision boards, gratitude journals, music playlists, etc., as these can serve as great sources of inspiration!
Achieving success requires celebrating all victories along the way – no matter how big or small they may seem.
I am going to love you and leave you, until next week. Bye for now!
As usual, want to really make sure you are getting the benefit out of these videos then don't forget to leave your #gems in the Wellness 4 Women Group.
